INSPIRATION
My take on the intersection of marketing + life

Hi 👋

Red, yellow, green.

Rock, paper, scissors.

Beginning, middle, end.

There’s power in threes.

Consider the "Rule of Three," a principle that suggests anything that comes in threes is inherently effective, legit (maybe even written in stone by our adorable superheroes above!).

Three is the smallest group to form a true pattern. When pulled together, somehow three gels a group into being.

The Rule of Three also applies to generating solid content ideas.

For insurers, brokers and risk marketers looking for content topics, here’s my triple play: Think in threes.

1. Ask your producers:
What questions have you been asked three times lately?

2.
Ask yourself: What have you read three times (or less!) that you want your SME's take on?

3.
Ask your teams: Which three industry developments are emerging into tomorrow's trends?

On the flip side, if you’ve read about a topic a few more than three times, it likely means the topic is nearing the end of its shelf life. In today’s world of AI and SEO-driven content, resist the urge to create another "How to" commoditized article on everything you need to know about Reps and Warranties insurance.

We can do better. That’s where the Rule of Three comes in — again.

If you read something on LinkedIn, in an article once or twice and it resonated with you, there’s a good chance your prospects or current insureds still want to read about. You can be their #3.

Looking for another trifecta to get your noodle moving? You got it:

👉 What have you read on LinkedIn three times that made you upset, charged or motivated to dispel? Think: myths or false statements.

👉 Name three industry topics you wish you knew more about. Chances are your customers don’t have the 411 on them either.

👉 Which content styles have you seen recently that are unlike something your business has done before? Think: Executive POV content or repurposing a blog into a carousel for social.

A single word of caution: Three’s company. The content ecosystem gets crowded real fast. Choose your topics wisely, my friend.

All the best, Mindi :)
